Emotional Consciousness

Taking the plunge into Breatharianism changes everything. Body, mind, and lifestyle changes, the world becomes different. Only few are able to successfully and safely transform into Breatharian living - and of those few who do, even fewer will choose to stay with it.

Safety
Breatharianism involves a very advanced esoterical topic and if it were a physical sport it would be comparable to climbing Mount Everest. While there are many who are interested in sports and who consider themselves pretty good at their particular chosen forms of physical challenges, only very few would even consider Mt Everest. And any who do consider it, know that it takes elite levels of preparedness, years of practice and preparation, and most will find out that they simply do not possess the physique that could ever enable such a feat. And of those who do attempt it, many will have to turn back. And those who are stubborn and persistent beyond their capabilities and who persist beyond their personal limits, are at risk of losing their fingers and toes, or even dying on the mountain.

Breatharianism is a very highly advanced spiritual practice, and requires comparable spiritual preparedness and capability. And Breatharianism is extremely dangerous, potentially health-hazardous, and also deadly, if you are not the person, do not possess the capability, and are too stubborn to turn back when you've reached a personal limit. This of course triggers a lot of people to want to take the challenge, to prove something to themselves, just like a lot of people who want to climb Mt Everest do so to have pictures on their walls to brag about during dinner parties. I cannot emphasize enough of the potential dangers of Breatharianism.

For years I chose to not make any mention of Breatharianism because I do not want to promote it. I do not want to inspire any single person to attempt Breatharianism. The risks and true dangers outweigh any personal benefit from its successful accomplishment. Breatharianism is only for those who already feel the calling to do such a thing. There are people out there who are attempting Breatharianism and are oblivious to its dangers. So I wish to promote safety, not Breatharianism.

Still, Breatharianism as a medical, spiritual, physiological phenomenon, when it works successfully and seemingly safely, is an interesting concept, entitled to acknowledgement and recognition. It should not be censored simply for being controversial or for being potentially dangerous to those who are inept of it. We live in a conscious free society defined by curiosity, exploration, and discovery, by which even this topic is entitled to open discussion.

Consciousness
We all know how consumption affects our mind and mood. Every thing we eat makes us feel a certain way, but also every music we listen to or every television program we watch. Consumption feeds our senses and gives us a feeling to our mood and mind. A person who is a Breatharian, is not consuming these various things and is instead taking in impressions from the world as it is. A lot of people love to have a beer or turn the TV on when they come home after work, specifically because they like to fill their senses with something that takes them over for a while, so that they can feel something else, anything else, other than the thoughts and feelings they are living with at the moment. Consumption provides with a place to escape for a while, to be lost in a feeling and an experience that replaces the conscious feeling of oneself and of the world as it is. Everybody knows this.

A Breatharian finds no escape, nowhere to hide. Being a Breatharian is a very - very - conscious way of living. One becomes suddenly exposed to who they are and what the world is, without moments of escape or hiding in things.

Most people cannot be faced with conscious reality. What happens when you take away the food or drink of a person who is physically and nonphysically depending on them? They instantly begin to suffer. In fact, it only takes to instill the knowledge to the person that they are without food or drink for the suffering to appear, and happens even before enough time has passed for any real physical deprivation to develop. The feeling of deprivation is a very emotional experience. It can happen if you take away the food or drink from a person who needs it, but also if you take away the alcohol or cigarettes from someone who is depending on them, even if you take away internet access or video games from someone who is addicted to those. Deprivation from any of our physical things brings about suffering, a very emotional experience.

A Breatharian is someone who can detach from the thought of having physical things, without ending up in emotional suffering. Which brings back the question of whether Breatharianism might just be a genetic adaptation found in some towards managing times when there is nothing to eat or drink. Being deprived of a physical thing to which we are attached can bring about huge emotions of rage, sadness, fear, panic, etc. I claim that these are in fact the emotions which we are suppressing by consuming those things. A lot of people need to hide away in alcohol, video games, or television, in order to stay away from consciously being aware of their current depression, anger, or other emotional troubles. I used to overconsume ice-cream in order to not notice that I wasn't feeling loved in my life. Take away the alcohol, video games, television, or ice-cream, from anybody who is addicted to those, and the emotions that the objects were suppressing start to appear because they are no longer being suppressed.

A Breatharian does not consume any things into which other people like to hide away their awareness of themselves. People who eat, do not realize that every food they eat places a lasting feeling over them and takes over their conscious awareness of themselves. Many cultures and religions practice fasting, which are times when food and sometimes also drinking is deliberately withdrawn, and they know how one comes faced with oneself and often has a religious experience. Returning to foods once breaking the fast, one finds that they have learned and gained something, and that something is consciousness.

Breatharians are always faced with all of who they are. Every emotion and thought, and they see the world more clearly. Their senses are no longer occupied by the experience of food, and so all that extra awareness is on themselves and on perceiving the world around them. People who switch to Breatharianism experience how the senses of perception, vision, hearing, scent, taste, feeling all suddenly expand and the world grows. A Breatharian also experiences a tremendous increase in consciousness and is aware of themselves to a much greater extent. It is, as if people who consume physical things, are keeping their awareness on those things and away from themselves.

Most people cannot face themselves and encounter a great deal of emotional distress. We all know how nice it is to consume alcohol, foods, or even video games or television in order to hide away from difficult emotions or when we do not want to see ourselves the way we are. In order to succeed as a Breatharian, one of the elements required, is to be able to fully face who you are. I also claim that this, not any physical challenges, is the hardest challenge of reaching Breatharianism.
